On the morning of September 28, in anticipation of the 10th National Martyrs' Day, Wuhan's No. 21 (Jingyu) Middle School hosted the commemoration event titled "Remembering the Revolutionary Martyrs, Promoting the Jingyu Spirit, Becoming Excellent Youths of the New Era." Invited by the school, Vice Dean Zhu Lei led a group of our college's students to attend the event.

At around 8:00 AM, alongside the resonant national anthem, the memorial ceremony commenced on Jingyu Middle School's playground, where student representatives laid flower baskets at the Martyrs' Wall. At the Martyrs' relief wall in the Memorial Hall, students from the school passionately recited "Ode to the Martyrs' Spirit," expressing their deep respect for the martyrs and their resolve to be outstanding youths in the new era. Participants from various sectors proceeded to the relief wall in the Memorial Hall to pay their respects with small white flowers.

In his speech, Wu Xinqiu, the principal of Jingyu Middle School, emphasized that Martyrs' Day serves as a reminder that the best way to honor the spirit and legacy of the martyrs is by diligently working towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. He expressed hope that the young generation would cultivate faith, thoughtful reflection, and action, transforming their passion for learning into unwavering ideals and convictions, and taking practical steps towards shouldering the responsibility of national rejuvenation.

Vice Dean Zhu Lei remarked that Jingyu Middle School, with its longstanding educational tradition and glorious revolutionary legacy, is not only the site where Xia Minghan, Xiang Jingyu, and over 200 other martyrs sacrificed their lives but also one of the few schools nationwide to house a martyrs' memorial. He stressed the importance of fully utilizing the school's rich red resources to fervently promote the Jingyu spirit, guiding students to establish lofty ideals and strive to be exemplary youths of the new era, thereby contributing to national development with their youthful vigor.

Following the commemoration, Zhu Lei and leaders from Jingyu Middle School engaged in discussions on how to enhance the red culture and crystallize the Jingyu spirit in the new era. They explored ways to translate theoretical achievements into the foundation for teacher development, curriculum creation, and pedagogical energy, with a focus on addressing key issues related to student growth. The School of Marxism, leveraging its collaboration with Dazhi Street in Jiang'an District, Wuhan, to establish the "Face-to-Face Practice Base for Theory Hotspots," aims to fully utilize its disciplinary and talent advantages. In partnership with Jingyu Middle School, it seeks to delve deeper into red resources and actively explore collaborative methods for cultivating the new generation.
