Recently, Wang Wenxuan, Li Jing, associate professor Feng Tao and others, faculty members of Professor Liu Jikai's team from the School of Pharmacy of Central South University for Nationalities, isolated from Xylaria curta E10, a new cytochalaxin Xylarichalasin A. the compound has a highly cohesive structure of six rings and contains up to 12 chiral centers. in the absence of single crystals, structural resolution presents considerable challenges. its structure and stereo configuration were finally determined by 1d/2d nmr, high-resolution mass spectrometry, carbon spectrum calculations, residual dipole coupling calculations, and ecd calculations. This compound, with two chlorine atom substitutions, is the first natural cytochalasin compound containing halogens and represents a new type of skeleton. The bioactivity test showed that the compound showed significant cytotoxic activity against human leukemia cell HL-60, which has the value of further research on anti-tumor activity.
