June 17, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Professor Tang Xiangying, Wuhan University professor Zhou Qianghui was invited to the school of pharmacy for academic exchanges. The conference was presided over by Associate Professor Yang Jinming, Tang Xiangying with the title of "Study on the reaction performance of boron free radical", Zhou Qianghui with the title of "efficient synthesis of aromatic functional molecules" as an academic report, the dean of the School of Pharmacy Professor Liu Jikai, vice dean Professor Lei Xinxiang and more than 60 teachers and students of the School of Chemistry and Materials Science representatives attended.
Professor Tang xiangying introduced the history and development status of organoboron chemistry, and pointed out the deficiency in the research of controlled transformation of boron free radical, and introduced the breakthrough, deficiency and future work prospect in this field. Taking the famous organic name reaction Catellani reaction as a template, Professor Zhou qianghui pointed out the limitations of this reaction, and then introduced the progress of our research group in this field. He successfully applied the developed organic synthesis methodology to the synthesis of natural product Berkelic Acid, the drug molecule Ramelteon (lamitronone) for insomnia treatment and EphB4 kinase inhibitor, showing the charm of organic synthesis and arousing the strong interest of teachers and students present.
After the lecture, teachers and students actively asked questions to the two speakers and exchanged their understanding of relevant research fields.
